The 12 Bars of Christmas are open from Black Friday through New Years Eve. Be sure to check back with our events calendar as the opening date gets closer. Please follow along on Facebook and Instagram as we count down the days and share important updates about the event.

Q: Do I need tickets to attend The 12 Bars of Christmas?

A: No. The bars & restaurants are open to the public. However, for the ultimate chauffeured experience, you don’t want to miss the VIP Bus Tour provided by our official transportation partner: The Outer Banks Party Bus.

Q: What is the Passport Challenge?

A: You can participate in this optional challenge by purchasing a passport at any of the 12 pop-up bars for $10 (starting Nov. 29th). 100% of proceeds support local Outer Banks charities. Some folks collect all 12 stamps over a long weekend, while others visit a few bars each week. Once finished, participants can redeem a 2024 keepsake ornament and enter our giveaway.

Q: Are the 12 Bars of Christmas Kid-Friendly?

A: Yes. Eleven of the bars double as family-friendly restaurants. We plan many special events for kids such as cookie decorating, crafts, trivia, and character dining. All the stops offer a holiday kids menu with festive drinks and desserts. This year, we’re excited to introduce the Christmas Island Kids Quest!

Q: Where can I buy merch for the 12 Bars of Christmas?

A: Each pop-up bar has their own unique designs and merchandise such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, cups, stickers, and more.
